This was one of the very first signs I drew, which feels like ages ago now, they’ve all taken so bloody long to get out of my head, onto paper, and then converted to digital.
When I came back to it, I wasn’t sure if it felt a bit “safe” compared to the others, which just seemed to get weirder and weirder. But I do still like it, and a bit like Scorpio, it’s quite true to what I originally intended for this collection. I think it could really work even without colour, just as a plain line drawing. And like Scorpio, I kept all the text handdrawn, which gives it a super rustic and analog look.
Capricornus is of course the sea-goat. I am coming across like a bit of a hater of male animals throughout this, but I really don’t like goats, they creep me out at the farm. Their horns are weird, their eyes are weird, so there was no way I was drawing a goat here. Perhaps seen too many silly horror movies growing up - they're weird though right?!
But I did put the horns on, I think they were necessary for the whole sea-goat vibe, and they also nod to the whole “Greatest of All Time” (GOAT) idea, which felt like a nice layered reference.
The Capricorn constellation and glyph is also included.
Hope you love it! You can view the tee in the zodiac collection here.
