I had a similar problem with Scorpio as I did with Cancer, in that my issue with spiders and just bugs generally, really put me off drawing a scorpion. Too many legs. I also wasn’t sure how to put a feminine spin on the animal, even if I did manage to draw it.
But luckily for me, I disovered on my starsign research quest there is a yoga pose called the Scorpion, and I couldn’t have been more thrilled.
So this cool girl is on her surfboard in the sea, because Scorpio is a water sign.
We also have the constellation above, a hand-drawn font, the glyph and the water sign element symbol (the upside down triangle) . You also can see the water element represented as 4 wavy lines which are the waves of the sea. This stuff isn't thrown together randomally you know!
This is actually much closer to the look and feel of how I originally intended the whole collection to be which I intended to be very obviously line-based, almost like a sketchbook drawing, not really made to be in colour. But I do love the colour pops here, and glad the whole collection took a turn to colour.

This design definitely ended up being a nice middle ground between the original raw concept and where the collection naturally evolved.
There’s something quite honest about this one visually, it feels less “designed” and more “drawn,” which I think suits this concept perfectly.
As I am born on the 23rd of the month, I'm on the Scorpio-Sagittarius cusp and defo will be having to wear this one with pride too.
